Myth – Schools Don’t Matter
If the three most important words in real estate are Location, Location, Location, the next three most important words are Resale, Resale, Resale!
As a first time home buyer, you are not likely to be in your first home for more than 4 – 7 years. It is much better to plan and anticipate the sale of the home when you are buying so you don’t get cornered into a situation where your home does not have the best resale value proposition to future buyers. As a starter, you may want to research schools in Northern Nevada using Annual Accountability Reports.
The location of the home matters and if a family is considering buying your home in the future, the school district may very well be at the top of their list of “must have” features. So, even if you do not have kids nor plan to have kids, it makes a great deal of sense to research schools and try to buy a home in a school district that will give you the best future resale value on your investment.
