Federal First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit

The federal government is not currently offering any tax credits for first time homebuyers. This IRS credit program expired in 2010 but could be revitalized through congressional legislation. The federal government does have many federal programs that you may qualify for that can help you save on down payment and closing costs or gain access to certain low down payment loan options.
